NYC 09 day 5, pt 2

After the train ride home for Coney Island we met up with Scoots, Chis Daly,Cassandra, and Georgie from the "JUGGS", aka "About a mile, or 2, err like 2 point 3 miles" for a group huddle.

One last dinner with friends before our trip back to CALI. We ended up at '67 Burger', a build a burger type joint. Bacon burger with feta cheese and jalapenos for me. 15 dollars for a burger? Who cares. I would've paid 20$!

We ended up under the Brooklyn Bridge for ice-cream and bit of sight seeing. Took some great photos of both the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridge,as well as the City skyline. What a wonderful way to end our night and our trip.

A million thanks to Scoops for being our tour guide and putting us up for the week. And thanks to Norm as well.

NYC 09, day 5 pt1

In a rush to get to the G I forgot the battery to camera. The only pic I got was from my camera phone on the Wonder wheel. I still hate ferris wheels but had to roll with Ian.

We hit the Cyclone as well. Norm was right, it was totally sketchy! I've never been on a roller coaster that bruised and battered people as much as this monument.

Headed home, head ache and all.

NYC 09 day 4, pt 3

Tonight we decided on the "3 Luigi's" for dinner with Norm. It's a local pizza spot across the street from the coffee shop we've been living at for the last 4 days. Great food and great company.

After dinner Ian and myself decided to head up to the city for dessert at "Juniors" and do a bit of people watching. About an hour into our excursion it started down pouring. We decided to call it a night and make our way back to BKLYN.

1 more full day tomorrow. Hopefully Peter Luger's for steaks!

Coney Island bound. Got some great photos today. Unfortunately due to the off and on rain none of the rides were running and 3/4 of the Island was locked up. Apparently, the Warriors are making a guest appearance tonight but it was too long to wait with nothing really to do.

Nathan's hot dogs were unbelievable. How could it not be.

I also got mistaken for an Egyptian with airbrushed tattoos. And I quote. " Ishj jshew Eee-jipscion. Ishjjj themz airbrushed on. Uh-uh, fahreeal? Dems real?" It was damn funny.

Pizza and Time Sq for a slice of heaven.

Finally got to sleep at 4am only to wake up again at 9am. Tired and sleepy. Sleepy and tired. Hit the coffee shop and made my way to the G.

Guess what? Got lost, again. Right train, wrong way. Found Williamsburg and met up with my boy Aaron from Cali. The Rumblers car club are having a huge car show under the bridge. The rainy weather didn't stop the people from showing up in droves.

Home.
Coffee.
Coney Island in a few hours.

NYC 09 day 3, pt 2

It's 3:35 AM and we just arrived home from our "quick" trip to the Staten Island Ferry to view the Statue of Liberty. Well, we got lost on the subway ride home. But, with some help from a few New Yorkers, our ordeal is over.

The ferry station is huge and feels like you're at a small airport terminal. The ride was super cool and the views of the statue were amazing! Our last minute midnight decision to hit water was well worth it. An adventure to say the least.

NYC 09 day 3.

So today got off to a late start. We headed to the local coffee shop for a cup of joe and a breakfast sandwich before heading out.

Right around 3 we head to the subway station with only few objectives: Find 'A Salt and Battery' and 'The Slaughtered Lamb Pub'. Bobby Flay challenged these dudes to a 'Throwdown' and lost. The fish n chips were insane! Yesterday I had the best pizza and today I had the best fish n chips.

We made our way through Little Italy and China Town before ending up in St Marks. Around 9 Scoots had suggested we check out Katz' Delicatessen . It's been there since 1888. Once he mentioned the restaurant had been featured on my favorite show, Diners Drive Ins and Dives, we were sold!

Day 3 came and went with a little bit of rain and a lot of walking. Eat/walk. Eat/walk. Eat/walk.

NYC 09 day 2, pt. 2

We recently saw an episode of The Food Network's, "The best thing I ever ate: Pizza". Ted Allen lives here in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, and raved about Graziella's Arugula and Gorgonzola pizza. The pie sounded kind of wierd considering it had no sauce and was topped with caramelized onions.

About a 10 min walk and we found our spot with the rooftop patio decorated in Christmas lights.

So far, best pizza we've ever had.

Gonna walk to the liquor store for some snacks and water and call it a night.

Day 3, Soho.

Day 2.

FAO Schwartz. Toys R Us. Empire State building. Rockafeller Center. Walked. Walked. And Walked. Did a lot of heckling today. Punched Ian a lot.

NYC 09' day 1, pt 2.

Scoots had to roll to band practice so me and "E" decided to head out to Time-Square at 10pm. Ian's eyes grew wide with excitement as soon as he saw the bright lights.

It was humid and raining but that didn't matter. We did the tour and ended up at Juniors. World Famous for it's cheesecake, Ian decided to take the Pepsi challenge. "Hands down Best Cheesecake EVER!". I said, "ever?". With a huge smile on his face, he nodded yes repeatedly.

2:45am.
Cashed out.

NYC 09' day 1

So day one is going amazingly well. Virgin American kicks ass. Scoops met us at the airport and after a few missed exits on the Airbus we arrive in Brooklyn.

Scoots showed us where Biggie had his famous rap battle on Youtube. Lil'Kim also used to live in this neighborhood. Scoots dared Ian to ask some thug dudes who killed Biggie. Ian didn't fall for it.

Caught Ian's first bite of NY style pizza on camera. He was amazed to say the least. Headed to Time Square tonight. Ted Allen's favorite pizzeria is down the street from here.so Def got to hit that spot.

Excited to eat tons of food: Peter Luger, Papaya King, Nathans, Assault and Battery to name a few.

Keep ya posted
